Job Title

GPU Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on verification of GPU graphics IP to ensure correctness, performance, and power goals across pre-silicon and post-silicon phases. Join an ASIC/graphics verification team collaborating with architecture, software, firmware, design, modeling, emulation and validation teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting requires multiple years of ASIC design/verification experience (see Education Requirements for degree-linked year guidance); preferred candidates commonly have 5+ years of related engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include building verification environments, executing system-level tests, and collaborating across disciplines to validate GPU functionality and performance.

  • Design, implement and verify GPU hardware, drivers, features and tools.
  • Create and maintain verification testbenches and environments using SystemVerilog/UVM.
  • Develop advanced testing frameworks to reproduce real-world system integration conditions.
  • Define and execute system-level test content: directed tests, gaming benchmarks, standards compliance suites and scenarios.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Software, Firmware, Modeling, Emulation and Post-silicon teams to define test methodology and content.
  • Participate in GPU architecture and micro-architecture reviews and feature alignment.
  • Build automation for continuous integration and testing of GPU IP.
  • Collect and analyze test results using basic statistics to track benchmarks and identify issues.
  • Document features and test outcomes; communicate progress and issues to the team.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. See Education Requirements for degree and minimum years detail.

  • Experience with ASIC design, verification, validation, or integration (see Education Requirements for years-by-degree guidance).
  • Proficient in SystemVerilog and UVM; experience with Verilog or VHDL.
  • Proficient in C/C++ for test or tooling integration.
  • Constrained-random testing and functional coverage development; test planning, simulation and debug skills.
  • Experience building testbenches, monitors and scoreboards; test automation and scripting (e.g., Python).
  • Familiarity with emulation/prototyping platforms and flows (e.g., Veloce, Palladium, Zebu, FPGA) and ability to develop synthesizable transactors for emulation.
  • Ability to collect and interpret test data to identify regressions and performance issues.

Nice-to-have:

  • GPU-specific verification or system/sub-system verification experience.
  • Exposure to graphics APIs (Vulkan, DirectX 11/12) and performance benchmarking.
  • Embedded firmware or kernel-level development and debugging experience.
  • Familiarity with formal verification (FPV/DPV) and hybrid emulation/prototyping flows.

Education Requirements

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field plus 4+ years of ASIC design/verification/validation/integration experience; OR Master's degree plus 3+ years; OR PhD plus 2+ years. Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Applications with equivalent practical experience will be considered.
