GPU Design Engineer (Principal / Director level)
Role Summary
Lead a high-performance RTL Design and Design Verification organization focused on Qualcomm's GPU family. The role combines hands-on technical leadership in micro-architecture, RTL, and verification with responsibility for team delivery, quality, and program execution.
Experience Level

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, team management, verification and delivery oversight.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across RTL design and design verification, including architecture and micro-architecture reviews.
- Define and review verification strategy, coverage goals, and sign-off criteria; lead debug of complex issues and high-impact risk resolution.
- Drive RTL quality, verification completeness, and disciplined sign-off practices across the GPU product family.
- Influence architecture tradeoffs relating to performance, power, area (PPA), scalability, and robustness.
- Promote and adopt modern verification methodologies: constrained-random, coverage-driven verification, assertions, formal, and automation.
- Hire, mentor, and develop senior technical leads and engineers; own succession planning and performance management.
- Partner with architecture, physical design, software, SoC, and program management to align technical milestones with schedules and staffing.
- Establish processes, metrics, and best practices to enable scale, reuse, and sustained execution velocity.
Requirements
Core required skills and experience (must-haves listed first).
- Proven track record managing and scaling large, high-performance engineering teams (including senior RTL and DV leads).
- Deep expertise in RTL design and verification languages and methodologies (SystemVerilog/Verilog, coverage-driven verification, assertions).
- Extensive experience delivering complex GPU, CPU, and/or ASIC designs from micro-architecture through silicon (tape-out readiness).
- Strong skills in verification planning, coverage analysis, debug, and readiness assessment.
- Demonstrated program and execution excellence: risk identification, mitigation, and on-time delivery without compromising quality.
- Ability to remain technically hands-on while operating at executive and organizational leadership levels.
- Ownership of hiring strategy, staffing alignment, and career development for the organization.
- Nice-to-have: experience with formal techniques, verification automation frameworks, and large-scale verification infrastructure.
Education Requirements
