GFX IP Verification Lead (MTS Silicon Design Engineer)
Advanced Micro DevicesJob Title
GFX IP Verification Lead (MTS Silicon Design Engineer)
Role Summary
Lead verification planning and execution for AMD graphics IP. Responsible for defining test plans, building directed and constrained-random tests, and driving closure of functional and coverage gaps across hardware, firmware, and software interactions.
Collaborate with cross-site architects, RTL engineers, firmware teams and software driver owners to ensure features meet release quality.
Experience Level
Senior-level (Lead). Specific years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning verification campaigns, implementing tests, debugging failures, and coordinating fixes with development teams.
- Collaborate with architects, hardware, and firmware engineers to define verification scope for new and existing features.
- Create detailed test plans accounting for interactions with hardware, firmware, and drivers.
- Estimate effort to implement tests and required testbench or environment changes.
- Develop directed and constrained-random UVM tests and verification environments.
- Debug test failures to identify root causes and work with RTL and firmware teams to resolve defects.
- Review and act on functional and code coverage metrics; add or refine tests to meet targets.
- Automate verification workflows in distributed compute environments and optimize simulation efficiency.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and proficiencies; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Must-have: IP-level ASIC verification experience and strong debugging skills for firmware and RTL using simulation tools.
- Hands-on experience with UVM testbenches and SystemVerilog; proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog, C and C++.
- Experience working in Linux and Windows environments (Linux preferred).
- Experience developing verification frameworks and testbenches, writing directed and random tests, and measuring coverage.
- Experience automating workflows and improving simulation performance (profiling, acceleration).
- Scripting experience (shell, Makefile; Perl or Ruby preferred).
- Nice-to-have: Graphics pipeline knowledge; SystemC/TLM experience; exposure to HLS tools/processes; prior work on video codec or multimedia solutions; leadership or mentorship exposure.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
