QualcommJob Title
FY27 Intern - Display IP FPGA Emulation Intern (Canada, 4 months)
Role Summary
This is a 4-month internship in the Validation & Verification (V&V) organization supporting silicon verification and validation of next-generation display controllers and display interfaces for SoCs used in mobile, compute, automotive and IoT platforms.
The intern will work within a multi-disciplinary team of architects, designers and verification engineers on FPGA-based emulation, lab validation, test execution, and debugging. This role may require an export license for candidates from certain countries.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Intended for students and early-career candidates (internship term).
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Develop and run FPGA-based emulation and lab validation for display IP and interfaces.
- Create and execute verification and validation test plans for display controllers and interfaces.
- Debug RTL, firmware and system-level issues using lab equipment and software tools.
- Write automation scripts and tooling to support test execution and result collection.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL designers and verification engineers to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Document test results, file bug reports, and communicate findings to the team.
Requirements
Key technical skills and attributes:
- Knowledge of programming languages and scripting (general competency required).
- Experience or coursework in RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) and digital design.
- Familiarity with Linux and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Exposure to VHDL, C or C++ and fundamental digital circuits concepts.
- Understanding of computer hardware fundamentals (caches, buses, memories, clocking) and real-time operating systems.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and FPGA projects.
- Familiarity with synthesis flows and scripting languages (Perl, Python, Tcl, TCSH).
- Experience with display interfaces and protocols (MIPI DSI, HDMI, DisplayPort) and on-chip buses (AXI, AHB).
- Digital signal processing, FPGA fundamentals, pixel and video processing, and build tools (GNU Make).
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program (e.g. Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or related field). Expected graduation date must be November 2027 or later. Internship availability required for a 4-month term (May or June 2027 through August or September 2027). Applicants should have at least one year of academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++ or Python.
