Role Summary
16-month internship on Qualcomm's Display Hardware team in Markham, focused on ASIC design, verification, silicon validation, or system engineering for display IP. Interns contribute to high-performance display processors, performance and power validation, and customer use-case development.
Multiple project placements are possible; assignments are project-specific and paired with a mentor. This role may require an export license for candidates from certain countries, which can delay start dates.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities vary by project; examples include:
- Develop and implement RTL for display ASIC features.
- Create and execute verification plans and tests (simulation, SystemVerilog/ UVM where applicable).
- Perform silicon validation and emulation, including lab bring-up and debug.
- Work on system-level integration and performance/power validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer use-cases and system requirements.
- Use scripting and automation to build testbenches and streamline validation flows.
- Document designs, test results, and contribute to team design reviews.
Requirements

- Must-have: Experience with programming or scripting (C, C++, Python, or similar) and basic scripting for automation.
- RTL experience and familiarity with Verilog/SystemVerilog; digital design fundamentals and Linux experience.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming and digital circuits; familiarity with real-time operating systems.
- Understanding of computer hardware concepts (caches, buses, memories, clocking) and good communication and teamwork skills.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: FPGA project experience or lab equipment usage (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers); synthesis and scripting with Perl/TCL; exposure to interfaces such as MIPI DSI, HDMI, DisplayPort, AXI, AHB.
- Experience with digital signal processing, pixel/video processing, GNU Make, TCSH, and general FPGA fundamentals.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s program in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Expected graduation date of November 2027 or later. Must be available for the full 16-month internship (May 2027–August 2028). At least 1+ years of academic experience with programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Python).
