Functional Safety Engineer - Student
Role Summary
Student-level software safety engineer supporting delivery of automotive software compliant with ISO 26262. Work with the BL Automotive SW R&D team to produce and track functional safety and cybersecurity artifacts and to ensure project-level deployment of corporate functional safety processes.
Report to the BL AP SW Safety Manager and collaborate with global hardware, software, solutions, and customer-facing teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Student position. Suitable for current students or early-career candidates; no specific years of professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Support project-level functional safety and cybersecurity activities and help implement safety processes.
- Contribute to Impact Analysis, Safety and Cybersecurity Plans, SW Tools Evaluation, and Safety Case deliverables.
- Help plan and monitor safety confirmation measures and cybersecurity audits; track execution and acceptance.
- Support deployment of corporate Functional Safety processes at the project level.
- Identify, document, and report project-level safety risks.
- Assist the Project Functional Safety Manager in interfacing with Safety Assessors.
- Learn and apply development methods required by ISO 26262.

- Nice-to-have: Interest or basic experience in software development, safety assessment, or tool evaluation.
- Nice-to-have: English proficiency for documentation and coordination with global teams.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent academic degree or equivalent practical experience.
