Functional Safety Automation Intern (6-month internship)
Role Summary
Work with NXP's Functional Safety and project teams to define and prototype automation for daily safety-engineering tasks using AI tools (for example Copilot or internal solutions). The objective is to reduce manual effort in drafting safety deliverables and reporting while complying with ISO 26262 processes.
This is a technical internship within the Automotive business unit focused on improving efficiency in functional safety workflows.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for the internship:
- Study and understand the ISO 26262 development process and associated safety activities.
- Map functional safety tasks, deliverables, dependencies, and expectations.
- Evaluate AI tools (e.g., Copilot and internal solutions) for automating safety-related tasks.
- Prototype and deploy automation solutions to assist with safety deliverables and reporting.
- Collaborate with the Safety Manager, safety architect, and project team; document findings and recommend next steps.
