Front-End Design Engineer
Nordic SemiconductorJob Title
Front-End Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver front-end digital IP and SoC RTL for Wi‑Fi System-on-Chips, working from requirements and architecture through RTL implementation, verification, integration and tape-out.
Collaborate with architecture, verification, software, DFT and implementation teams to meet functionality, performance and low-power targets.
Experience Level
Experienced / Mid-level engineering role. The posting targets engineers with prior digital IC or SoC design experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include:
- Front-end design and RTL implementation of digital IP, subsystems and SoCs.
- Develop and maintain verification environments and RTL testbenches.
- Integrate IP blocks and drive SoC-level integration with cross-functional teams.
- Support synthesis, static timing analysis, clock-domain crossing and timing closure.
- Implement and optimise low-power design techniques and UPF flows.
- Prepare technical specifications and support ASIC/FPGA prototyping and tape-out activities.
- Debug LEC and VCLP violations and support design sign-off.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to peers.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Practical experience in digital IC design, verification, synthesis or static timing analysis.
- Strong understanding of RTL design and verification principles, SoC implementation, synthesis and STA.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog, Verilog and VHDL.
- Experience with RTL implementation flows, synthesis tools, timing closure and CDC handling.
- Familiarity with low-power flows, UPF and DFT concepts.
- Proficiency diagnosing LEC and VCLP issues and supporting coverage-driven verification sign-off.
