FPGA Verification Engineer II
Role Summary
Plan and execute verification of FPGA designs and firmware. Work within the FPGA engineering team to validate functionality, performance, and integration of FPGA-based subsystems.
This is an on-site engineering role based in Westminster, CO.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically 3–7 years of FPGA verification or digital design verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include verification development, lab bring-up, and cross-discipline integration.
- Develop and execute verification plans, test cases, and regression suites for FPGA designs.
- Implement SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and run RTL simulations.
- Perform hardware bring-up and validation on FPGA evaluation boards and prototypes.
- Debug RTL, firmware, and hardware interactions; isolate root causes and verify fixes.
- Automate verification flows and maintain CI for test regressions.
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and systems engineers on integration and release readiness.
- Produce clear verification reports, test procedures, and release documentation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and eligibility requirements.
- Proven experience in FPGA verification and digital design verification.
- Proficiency with SystemVerilog and UVM or equivalent verification methodologies.
- Experience with RTL simulation and synthesis tools (e.g., Questa, ModelSim, VCS) and verification flows.
- Scripting ability for testbench and tool automation (Python, TCL, or similar).
- Hands-on lab experience with FPGA boards, JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and hardware bring-up.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI-based test automation.
- U.S. Person status or ability to obtain required export authorizations.
- Ability to work on-site in Westminster, CO.
Nice-to-have: experience with space/aerospace systems, radiation-tolerant FPGAs, or hardware/software integration testing.
