Job Title
FPGA Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The FPGA Verification Engineer on the Imaging team develops verification environments and testbenches for FPGA/ASIC RTL used in imaging and sensor systems. The role works with interdisciplinary hardware and software engineers to define verification scope, execute test plans, and mature prototypes toward production.
Experience Level
Senior β 8+ years of experience developing HDL firmware for FPGA devices.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing verification infrastructure, implementing testbenches, and leading verification efforts for RTL blocks.
- Architect and design verification environments using SystemVerilog, OVM, or UVM.
- Create test plans, testcases, and track code and functional coverage.
- Develop testbenches for RTL verification using VHDL and/or SystemVerilog.
- Recommend and adopt tools and practices to improve ASIC/FPGA verification flow.
- Contribute to engineering estimates and program planning.
- Provide technical leadership: decompose verification tasks, plan activities, and report status.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and qualifications for the role.
- 8+ years of professional experience developing HDL firmware for FPGA devices.
- Professional experience developing and simulating RTL designs using VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and execute verification testbenches using VHDL and/or SystemVerilog.
- Experience with chip-level verification methodologies: constrained-random testing, functional coverage, and assertion-based verification (SystemVerilog).
- Familiarity with revision control systems such as Git or Subversion.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Nice-to-have:
- ASIC/FPGA lab validation and debug experience using standard lab equipment; familiarity with DFT and production test concepts.
- Proficiency with Unix/Linux and scripting or software development (C, C++, Python, Perl, shell).
- Experience with industry tools such as QuestaSim, Synplify, Quartus, or Vivado.
Education Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is typically required.
