Job Title

FPGA Systems Development Engineer

Role Summary

Support development and deployment of FPGA and SoC solutions within the Aerospace, Defense and Communication business. The role focuses on building evaluation and test systems for ultra-wideband products used in instrumentation, communications, and defense subsystems.

Work in a cross-functional, geographically distributed engineering team to deliver FPGA firmware, verification, and lab/ATE support.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include FPGA/SoC design, verification, and test support.

  • Design and implement SoC/FPGA firmware using HDL, IP cores, and embedded software.
  • Constrain designs and perform timing analysis.
  • Develop behavioral models and perform FPGA design verification.
  • Troubleshoot FPGA designs and hardware in lab and on automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Participate in design reviews, produce documentation, and present demonstrations.
  • Support product evaluation, test activities, and system integration.
  • Collaborate with digital designers, product/test engineers, and applications/marketing teams.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience programming FPGAs or SoCs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize to meet schedules.

  • Experience with high-speed signaling, Gigabit Transceivers, and high-speed memory interfaces.
  • Experience with AMD/Xilinx devices and toolchains.
  • Verilog or SystemVerilog and digital design experience.
  • Software experience in C/C++, Python, or TCL for embedded or automation tasks.

Education Requirements

Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
