FPGA Silicon Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and develop FPGA IP with emphasis on Ethernet and related high-speed protocols. Work within an ASIC/FPGA silicon team to implement, validate and debug FPGA IP and collaborate with verification and validation teams.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 7+ years of semiconductor IP design experience.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on delivering production-quality FPGA IP and supporting its validation and handoff.

• Design FPGA IP using Verilog and other HDLs.
• Develop FPGA IP for Ethernet and related protocols.
• Implement and support validation, debugging and verification activities.
• Document technical specifications and maintain project records.
• Collaborate with verification and validation teams to resolve issues.
• Prepare and present technical updates to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• 7+ years experience in semiconductor IP design (stated in Experience Level).
• Proficiency with HDL languages: Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, or Python.
• Familiarity with FPGA development tools (Quartus or Vivado).
• Exposure to high-speed design concepts and Ethernet protocols.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to present technical outcomes clearly.
• Willingness to learn new skills and technologies.

Education Requirements

B.Tech. or M.Tech. in Electronics or Computer Engineering with specialization in VLSI.
