FPGA Post Silicon Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Lead device- and IP-level post-silicon validation for FPGA configuration, security features (secure boot, root-of-trust), and HPS subsystems to ensure product security, reliability, and system integrity. Work on silicon bring-up, system-level debug, and validation automation while collaborating with architecture, design, firmware, and platform teams.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 8+ years of hands-on silicon validation experience focused on FPGA configuration, security, SoC, or embedded processor subsystems.
Responsibilities
Deliver validation strategies, execute tests, and debug silicon and system issues across FPGA and HPS domains.
- Develop and own validation strategies for configuration, security, and HPS subsystems aligned to device architecture and security requirements.
- Validate FPGA configuration flows across modes: power-on reset, cold/warm configuration, partial reconfiguration, and recovery.
- Validate security features including secure boot, authentication, encryption, key management, and protection against misconfiguration or unauthorized access.
- Validate HPS functionality and integration: boot flows, reset/clock sequencing, memory interfaces, and FPGA–HPS interaction.
- Create and execute test cases for robustness, security corner cases, fault injection, and negative testing.
- Perform device and system bring-up and troubleshoot configuration failures, security violations, boot hangs, and interface issues across silicon revisions.
- Use evaluation boards and reference platforms to ensure interoperability and real-world coverage.
- Improve validation methodologies, automation, and infrastructure to increase coverage and efficiency.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and board teams to influence observability and debug capabilities.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution; a short list of preferred skills follows.

Must-have: 8+ years of hands-on silicon validation experience with emphasis on FPGA configuration flows, security, SoC, or embedded processors.

Must-have: Strong understanding of FPGA configuration architectures, configuration memories, bitstream management, and recovery mechanisms.

Must-have: Strong knowledge of hardware security concepts: secure boot, authentication, encryption, key storage, lifecycle states, and threat modeling.

Must-have: Experience validating HPS/embedded processor subsystems including boot loaders, reset/clock sequencing, memory bring-up, and HW–SW interaction.

Must-have: Hands-on system-level validation and debug experience: power-on bring-up, failure analysis, and silicon issue triage.

Must-have: Experience with Python for automation, scripting, and test infrastructure.

Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Verilog and detailed FPGA/SoC architectures.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
