FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) Engineer
Role Summary
Design, develop, verify, and optimize FPGA-based systems and programmable logic for high-reliability applications. Work with cross-functional teams to deliver lab-tested, certified hardware and firmware solutions for telecommunications, aerospace, defense, and enterprise computing.
Experience Level
Senior-level β requires extensive experience (listed below recommends 8+ years) in functional verification of FPGA/ASIC/PLDs and leading small teams.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on verification, lab testing, and team leadership for FPGA projects, including certification activities for airborne hardware.
- Lead and execute functional verification of FPGA designs using SV/UVM methodologies.
- Plan and perform lab validation of FPGA boards using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and related test equipment.
- Drive DO-254 certification activities and produce required verification artifacts for airborne devices (experience with DAL-A preferred).
- Develop and maintain verification testbenches, test scripts, and automation.
- Write and maintain scripts for tooling and test automation (Perl, Python, shell).
- Lead and mentor a small offshore verification team; coordinate tasks and reviews.
- Communicate technical status, risks, and results to stakeholders.
