FPGA Engineer I
Role Summary
Member of an Integrated Program Team developing firmware implemented in FPGAs, SoCs, and CPLDs for defense systems. Work includes firmware design, verification, lab integration, fault isolation, and system qualification testing.
Experience Level

Responsibilities
Accountable for firmware development and verification across design and laboratory integration phases.
- Derive firmware requirements from system architecture and produce firmware documentation.
- Design HDL-based digital circuits and create test benches to verify designs.
- Generate device constraints and build automation scripts for build, integration, and testing.
- Perform laboratory verification of target device functionality, integration, test and evaluation, and fault isolation of prototypes.
- Support system qualification testing and provide test reports and remediation.
Requirements
Must-have skills, security, and experience for the role.
- Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance required and U.S. citizenship.
- Typically less than 2 years prior relevant experience (entry-level).
- Experience with C/C++, HLS, or UVM.
- Experience with programmable logic development tools (examples: ISE, Vivado, Quartus II, Libero, Synplify).
- Linux scripting and build experience (bash, makefiles, Tcl, Python).
- Practical experience creating test benches and verification environments for HDL designs.
Nice-to-have:
- Curriculum or coursework geared toward embedded systems.
- Previous co-op, internship, or project experience implementing and verifying firmware.
- Experience with source control systems (GIT, SVN, ClearCase).
Education Requirements
