Role Summary

Develop, implement, and verify FPGA firmware and support hardware bring-up for flight and ground systems as a member of the FPGA engineering team in Austin, TX. Work involves design, simulation, integration, and lab verification for aerospace applications.

Entry-level; typically 0–3 years of relevant FPGA or digital design experience.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement FPGA logic and IP for digital systems.
  • Create and run simulations, unit tests, and verification benches; analyze timing and resource usage.
  • Perform hardware bring-up and debug on development boards and test fixtures.
  • Integrate FPGA designs with embedded systems, high-speed interfaces, and peripherals.
  • Maintain RTL codebase, use version control, and participate in design reviews and documentation.
  • Support manufacturing tests, field troubleshooting, and product validation as required.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications and other requirements:

  • U.S. Person or able to obtain required export authorization from the U.S. Department of State.
  • Able to work on-site in Austin, TX.
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA development: RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, and hardware debugging (appropriate to an entry-level role).
  • Familiarity with FPGA toolflows, version control systems, and lab measurement/debug tools.
  • Willingness to undergo background/security checks and drug/alcohol testing if required.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with aerospace/space systems, exposure to security-cleared environments, or experience with high-speed serial interfaces.
