Job Title

FPGA Engineer

Role Summary

The FPGA Engineer will design, implement, and deploy FPGA-based hardware solutions to accelerate ultra-low-latency trading systems. This role partners with Quantitative Researchers and Strategy Developers to convert trading requirements into production hardware and firmware.

Work includes architecture, RTL design and simulation, hardware selection, board-to-API implementation, testing, and iterative performance optimization.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 8+ years of FPGA/ASIC architecture, design, and development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include translating trading requirements into hardware solutions and delivering production-ready FPGA systems.

  • Collaborate with researchers and strategy developers to define hardware requirements and performance targets.
  • Architect and design FPGA solutions, select hardware, and define key functional blocks.
  • Implement RTL (board to API), simulate, verify, and integrate designs into production environments.
  • Measure and iterate on hardware performance with trading teams to meet latency and throughput goals.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and relevant experience.

  • 8+ years of FPGA or ASIC high-level architecture, design, and development using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog (required).
  • Experience with board-level bring-up, simulation and verification, and production deployment (required).
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces such as Ethernet and PCIe (preferred).
  • Familiarity with high-level software languages (C#, C, Java) is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, or foreign equivalent.
