FPGA Engineer
SAPSOL TechnologiesJob Title
FPGA Engineer
Role Summary
Design and verify FPGA hardware and associated test environments. The role spans RTL development, verification (UVM/SystemVerilog), hardware bring-up and full hardware lifecycle activities, and requires collaboration with a verification team across locations.
The engineer will provide technical and DO-254 process guidance to the verification team and mentor emerging engineers at the India GETC-I site.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Substantial hands-on FPGA or ASIC development experience is expected; senior candidates typically have 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include RTL development, verification, hardware validation, and mentoring across distributed teams.
- Develop RTL and verification testbenches using VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog.
- Create UVM constrained-random verification environments.
- Perform static timing analysis, linting, and clock-domain-crossing (CDC) analyses.
- Execute hardware lab testing and FPGA verification during board bring-up.
- Manage hardware lifecycle tasks: requirements capture, decomposition, architecture, synthesis, placement & routing.
- Coordinate with and mentor engineers at the India GETC-I site; deliver technical and DO-254 process guidance.
- Support integration and validation activities on target FPGA platforms.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Expert-level verification experience with SystemVerilog and/or UVM, or demonstrable FPGA verification experience in lab testing.
- Hands-on experience with VHDL and Verilog.
- Experience with static timing analysis, linting tools, and CDC verification.
- Experience across hardware lifecycle steps including synthesis and place & route.
- Practical FPGA or ASIC development and hardware bring-up experience.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills for distributed teams.
- Knowledge of DO-254 processes and ability to provide process guidance.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Xilinx products.
- Previous lab-based FPGA validation or hardware-level testing roles.
- Senior-level experience (typically 5+ years).
Education Requirements
Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field.
