Job Title

FPGA Digital Design Engineer (m/f/d)

Role Summary

Work on FPGA-based prototyping and digital design for System-on-Chip (SoC) projects within the Digital Design team at NXP Austria. Deliver RTL, verification, and HW/SW co-validation to enable SoC development and bring-up.

Collaborate with firmware, software, and toolchain teams to integrate and validate SoC functionality on FPGA platforms.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include design, verification, and platform support for FPGA-based SoC prototyping:

  • Digital design for FPGA prototyping of SoC components.
  • RTL design, timing constraint creation, and synthesis.
  • Verify FPGA designs and perform HW/SW co-validation on FPGA platforms.
  • Debug hardware/software integration and functionality on FPGA boards.
  • Collaborate with firmware, software, and toolchain stakeholders.
  • Document FPGA platforms for use by other SoC teams.
  • Perform security-related tasks as required; assignments may be in scope of security certifications.

Requirements

Required and preferred skills and behaviors.

  • Must-have: Basic programming skills (C, Assembly).
  • Must-have: Basic RTL design knowledge; Verilog/SystemVerilog preferred.
  • Must-have: Strong problem-solving, logical analysis, and communication skills in English.
  • Must-have: Self-motivated and able to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with FPGAs.
  • Nice-to-have: Basic circuit and PCB design know-how.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with computer architecture, microcontrollers, and bus protocols.

Education Requirements

University degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
