Role Summary
Senior FPGA digital design engineer supporting the ARRGM-ER missile program in Northridge, CA. Work covers FPGA and ASIC design across the full product lifecycle, using model-based engineering, DevSecOps, and Agile practices.
Work is on-site and focused on implementing digital hardware architectures, DSP algorithms, and high-speed interfaces to meet system requirements.

Responsibilities
Primary technical responsibilities include design, analysis, implementation, and verification of complex FPGA-based digital systems.
- Design, develop, modify, and evaluate digital circuitry and FPGA/ASIC implementations.
- Define design approaches and parameters; select components and evaluate vendor capabilities.
- Implement FPGA hardware architectures and algorithms; integrate with system-level requirements in collaboration with Systems Engineering.
- Analyze test results, conduct experiments, and perform board- or system-level debug with lab equipment.
- Develop verification artifacts and review designs to ensure timing closure, reliability, and performance.

Must-have:
- Hands-on FPGA design experience in VHDL and/or Verilog within the past several years.
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx and/or Intel/Altera SoC FPGAs and EDA tools such as Vivado, Quartus, and QuestaSim/Modelsim.
- Proven digital design and verification skills for high-speed interfaces (AXI, DMA, PCIe, DDR3, Ethernet, HSSI) and timing closure strategies.
- Ability to perform board/system debug using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and RF signal generators.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
Nice-to-have:
- DSP algorithm implementation experience using MATLAB/Simulink and model-based design workflows.
- Experience with VxWorks RTOS, RF design background, and formal verification/testbench generation in ModelSim/QuestaSim.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or another STEM discipline with significant digital design experience (posting specifies Bachelor's + ~8+ years), or a Master's degree with reduced experience (posting specifies MS + ~6+ years).
