FPGA Development Tools Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and optimize software tools for power and thermal analysis of next-generation FPGAs. The role sits on the development tools team and requires working with FPGA silicon designers, architects, and other engineering teams to model silicon effects and integrate them into tools.
Primary mission: deliver reliable, performance- and memory-efficient tooling that improves user experience and supports FPGA product development.
Experience Level
Entry-level β requires at least 6 months of relevant professional experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Design, implement, and optimize software components for power and thermal analysis of FPGAs.
- Improve runtime and memory efficiency of analysis tools and implement new user-facing features.
- Collaborate with silicon designers, architects, and cross-functional teams to model advanced silicon effects and integrate them into tools.
- Troubleshoot customer issues, analyze feedback, and maintain a performance-focused codebase.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and performance profiling.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 6+ months professional experience developing software.
- Proficiency in C/C++.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
- Understanding of algorithm runtime and memory optimization; experience profiling and improving performance.
- Ability to debug complex code and work collaboratively across engineering teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with power/thermal analysis or FPGA-related tools and silicon modeling.
- Familiarity with large codebases, build systems, and performance benchmarking.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
