Job Title

FPGA Design Engineer

Role Summary

Work on FPGA design and verification for SoC/IP projects with a focus on AMBA AXI interfaces, processor integration, and complex SoC/IP debug. The role involves design, verification, debug, and reporting to customers while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level; requires approximately 5+ years of relevant experience in FPGA/ASIC design and verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include FPGA design, verification, and debugging of SoC/IP components and communicating progress to customers.

  • Develop and maintain Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL and verification environments.
  • Design and verify AMBA AXI interfaces and integrate with ARM or processor-based systems.
  • Create test plans and implement BFM/driver/monitor/scoreboard components for verification testbenches.
  • Perform stress and corner-case testing, gate-level simulations, and coverage closure activities.
  • Debug functional failures and complex SoC/IP interactions; support root-cause analysis.
  • Report technical progress and issues to customers on a regular basis.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items noted separately.

  • Must-have: 5+ years of experience in Verilog/SystemVerilog, HVL (e.g., UVM) and C/C++ for verification and design.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with AMBA AXI bus protocols and processor integration (ARM or similar).
  • Must-have: Strong SoC/IP debug experience and experience across the full verification cycle (test plan, implementation, simulation, coverage, assertions).
  • Must-have: Experience developing BFM/driver/monitor/scoreboard and integrating components into testbenches.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with gate-level simulation, stress/corner testing, and failure debug.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Arteris/NOC design toolset.
  • Nice-to-have: Scripting and build tools: Make, Perl, Python.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
