FPGA Customer Quality Engineer

Role Summary

The FPGA Customer Quality Engineer will drive product quality and customer satisfaction for FPGA products by diagnosing and resolving customer-reported hardware, board, and system issues. This external-facing role coordinates with customers, internal engineering, operations, and supply-chain teams to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Senior β€” requires extensive field experience (10+ years) working with FPGA/ASIC products and customer-facing technical support.

Responsibilities

Primary duties focus on customer issue resolution, cross-functional coordination, and continuous quality improvements.

  • Troubleshoot and debug customer-reported issues across hardware, firmware, software, board, system, and manufacturing domains.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and drive cross-functional corrective and preventive actions with engineering and operations teams.
  • Engage directly with customers and manufacturing partners, including on-site visits, to accelerate resolution and strengthen partnerships.
  • Support product qualification and production ramp-up by aligning on system-level requirements and use cases with lead customers.
  • Collect and improve customer and manufacturing data for monitoring, testing, failure analysis, and quality modeling.
  • Communicate status and technical findings clearly to customers and internal stakeholders (written and verbal).

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills; preferred items noted where applicable.

  • 10+ years working with FPGA and/or ASIC products in design, validation, test, quality engineering, lab debug, or applications engineering at component, hardware, or board level.
  • 10+ years providing technical support to external customers for FPGA/ASIC-based designs, including issue resolution and design guidance.
  • 10+ years leading component debug activities, performing root-cause analysis and cross-functional issue resolution.
  • 10+ years experience with board-level design, bring-up, validation, and hardware debug.
  • 10+ years using FPGA development tools (e.g., Quartus) with hands-on knowledge of FPGA architecture, IP integration, and timing/voltage/temperature considerations.
  • 5+ years working with high-speed interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, DDR, HDMI, USB, AXI, or similar protocols.
  • Full conversational and written fluency in Mandarin and English.
  • Preferred: 12+ years experience with FPGA/ASIC products; strong analytical, communication, organizational, and independent teamwork skills; willingness to travel for customer engagements.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
