Job Title

Foundry Virtuoso Engineer

Role Summary

Provide technical support for Cadence Virtuoso-based analog backend flows, focused on schematic, layout, and design-environment usage. Support foundry PDK adoption and enablement, develop and maintain Virtuoso technology files, PCells, and QA flows, and collaborate with product engineering and R&D to reproduce and resolve customer issues.

Work includes foundry customer engagements to clarify flows, demonstrate tools, and reproduce issues.

Experience Level

Mid-level — 3+ years of professional experience in an IC design house or foundry.

Responsibilities

The role's primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support for Virtuoso-based analog backend flows (schematic, layout, and design environment).
  • Assist foundries in PDK adoption and enablement; ensure correct implementation of process rules and recommended Virtuoso flows.
  • Develop and maintain Virtuoso technology files (techfiles), PCells, and QA flows.
  • Reproduce, debug, and document customer issues; communicate findings to product engineering and R&D and track resolution.
  • Participate in foundry-related customer engagements to clarify flows, demonstrate tools, and assist with issue reproduction.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Hands-on experience with Cadence Virtuoso for analog schematic and layout flows.
  • Experience with PDK enablement, techfile and PCell development, and QA/test flows for foundry processes.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills to reproduce issues and work with product engineering and R&D to resolve them.
  • Experience collaborating with foundry teams and customers.
  • Strong technical communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in foundry customer engagements and process-rule interpretation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required; 3+ years of relevant work experience. Master’s degree is desired.
