Foundry Support Senior Engineer

Role Summary

Provide technical foundry and EDA support focused on circuit-level and physical-design signoff, signal integrity, and EM/ESD analysis. Work with R&D, product engineering, QA, and applications teams to analyze problems, validate tools and flows, and deliver production-ready solutions for semiconductor designs.

The role is on an engineering team that supports EDA products used for IC signoff across applications such as automotive and AI; collaboration with internal and external customers is required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical analysis, tool qualification, and cross-team support to improve EDA solutions for signoff and signal integrity.

• Analyze and validate circuit-level and physical-design issues using advanced EDA tools for IC signoff and signal integrity.
• Apply IC layout, simulation, and IRE/EM analysis skills to support robust semiconductor designs.
• Collaborate with R&D, product engineering, QA, and applications teams to resolve complex technical problems.
• Develop, enhance, and validate EDA methodologies, flows, and features for production silicon environments.
• Investigate issues reported by QA, customers, or internal teams; provide root-cause analysis and practical solutions.
• Support tool qualification, regression testing, and release validation to ensure product accuracy, performance, and stability.
• Adopt industry best practices in IC signoff and signal integrity and share knowledge with peers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; education requirements are summarized separately below.

• Experience with EDA solutions, semiconductor design companies, or foundries.
• Proficiency with commercial EDA/CAE/CAD tools such as Ansys Totem, IC layout editors, and SPICE or equivalent circuit simulators.
• Familiarity with circuit-level analysis and IC signoff concepts.
• Practical scripting ability with TCL, Python, or Perl for automation and flow development.
• Experience performing tool qualification, regression testing, and release validation in a production environment.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills; organized and detail-oriented with good follow-up.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required, with at least 1–2 years of relevant experience. Fields of study referenced include Electrical Engineering and related technical disciplines.
