Job Title

Foundry Engineer for Advanced Technology (Device/Process/Product)

Role Summary

Work on CMOS device and process integration, chip product KPI analysis, and system-level architecture to optimize performance, power, bandwidth and area efficiency. Collaborate with foundry partners and cross-functional teams (process, packaging, architects, memory and SoC teams) to support product bring-up and technology integration.

Experience Level

Mid-level (typically 3–7 years). Preferred: 5+ years in CMOS technology development (device/process) and product bring-up; minimum experience varies by degree.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities for this role include technical analysis, integration, and collaboration across device, process and product teams.

  • Define, model, design, optimize, verify and document IP (block/SoC) and device/process integration for high-performance, low-power products.
  • Perform device characterization and product-level KPI analysis to identify performance, power and area trade-offs (DTCO/STCO).
  • Develop and apply data-analysis workflows and tools for device and product diagnostics.
  • Optimize system-level KPIs including bandwidth, power efficiency and area efficiency; propose architectural or process changes.
  • Lead or support product bring-up activities and cross-functional validation.
  • Collaborate with foundry partners to drive process integration and technology adoption (FinFET/GAA and advanced nodes).
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to engineering and management stakeholders.

Requirements

Key technical skills and attributes required or preferred for success in this role.

  • Must-have: Proven experience in CMOS technology development and product bring-up; strong data-analysis skills and tool proficiency for device and product analysis.
  • Must-have: Solid understanding of CMOS device behavior, device characterization, and semiconductor process integration (including FinFET/GAA concepts).
  • Must-have: Experience optimizing system-level KPIs (bandwidth, power, area) and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Must-have: Self-motivated, organized, and effective in teamwork and cross-discipline communication.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with chiplet/package architectures, memory controller integration, AI/computing system design, or extensive foundry partnership experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting specifies equivalencies: Bachelor's + 4+ years relevant experience, Master's + 3+ years, or Ph.D. + 2+ years. An advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) is noted as preferred.
