Foundation IP Development Engineer
Role Summary
The Foundation IP group develops logic IP (standard cells and I/O) to support analog, digital and mixed-signal SoC designs across technology nodes. This role designs, simulates, and validates cell and I/O circuits, generates library views, and implements automation and QA to enable digital, analog and PnR flows.
Works with mixed-signal design teams; role includes occasional travel (up to 10%) and follows a daytime (1st shift) schedule.
Experience Level
Mid-level - minimum 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and simulate logic cells and I/O circuits; produce layout as required.
- Characterize libraries and generate library views to support digital, analog and mixed-signal design and place-and-route flows.
- Develop and execute library QA methodology and test plans; debug library and design issues.
- Create scripts and automation to support library generation, verification and release.
- Collaborate with analog, digital and mixed-signal teams to integrate libraries into SOC flows.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in circuit or library development.
- Strong knowledge of circuit design, simulation and characterization.
- Experience with library view development and verification.
- Familiarity with analog, digital and mixed-signal design flows and place-and-route requirements.
- Proficiency in programming or scripting for automation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; equivalent practical experience acceptable.
