Role Summary
Work on formal verification for complex IPs, subsystems, and SoCs within the Silicon/Hardware Engineering team. Drive formal verification strategy, build scalable environments and properties, and collaborate with architects, designers, and verification teams to ensure silicon quality.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically requires 4+ years of semiconductor verification experience with a significant focus on formal methods.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and execute formal verification strategies and plans based on architecture and microarchitecture.
- Author SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA), formal properties, assumptions, covers, and checkers.
- Debug counterexamples and work with designers to root-cause and resolve design issues.
- Drive verification closure via proof convergence, coverage analysis, and methodology improvements.
- Develop reusable formal verification components, libraries, and automation flows.
- Contribute to formal methodology evolution and AI-assisted verification workflows.
- Mentor early-career engineers and review verification artifacts and results.
- Collaborate with Architecture, RTL Design, DV, Emulation, and Silicon Validation teams.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 4+ years of semiconductor verification experience with significant focus on formal verification.
- Expertise in SystemVerilog and SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA).
- Hands-on experience with formal verification tools such as Cadence JasperGold and Synopsys VC Formal.
- Strong understanding of digital design fundamentals, computer architecture, and SoC design.
- Strong debugging and analytical skills; experience debugging counterexamples and RTL issues.
- Experience developing reusable verification components and automation.
- Collaborative communication skills for cross-functional work.
Nice-to-have: experience with emulation, silicon validation, and AI-assisted verification workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
