Role Summary

The Flex Solution Senior Staff Engineer is the primary technical owner for assigned OEM customer programs, responsible for driving Flex Platform custom development, system integration, and performance validation for digital cockpit and ADAS workloads.

This role leads cross-functional virtual teams (platform, ADAS software, validation, build), interfaces with OEM engineering leadership, and ensures integration, safety, performance, and timely delivery of Qualcomm solutions on customer hardware.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Hands-on technical leadership and customer-facing integration across Digital Cockpit and ADAS programs.

• Work directly with OEM teams to understand vehicle E/E architecture, backend systems, requirements, and constraints.
• Perform system integration and validation of Flex Platform using QNX RTOS, AUTOSAR Classic/Adaptive, and Android.
• Lead BSP and driver bring-up, debug boot/runtime issues, and configure vehicle communication protocols (SOME/IP, DoIP, UDS) and CAN interfaces.
• Integrate ADAS software stacks (perception, planning), analyze data flows and latency, and profile/tune system performance to meet workload targets.
• Execute system characterization and worst-case stress tests to validate performance headroom and scalability.
• Coordinate internal HW/SW/safety/security/tools/test teams to meet customer milestones and resolve critical technical issues.
• Provide technical leadership at customer reviews, workshops, on-site integration, and act as the chief technical counterpart to OEM engineering leadership.
• Mentor cross-functional Qualcomm teams and contribute to internal best practices for customer engagement and ADAS solutions.

• Must-have: 15+ years of senior engineering experience in Digital Cockpit, ADAS, or AD at OEMs, Tier‑1, semiconductor, or similar suppliers.
• Proven experience working directly with major global OEMs on large-scale mixed-criticality programs.
• Hands-on expertise in BSP integration, hardware bring-up, boot/runtime debugging, and performance analysis (multi-VM/KPI management).
• Strong knowledge of compute platform architecture (SoC, GPU/DSP, accelerators), hypervisors/virtual machines, and HW/SW co-design trade-offs.
• Experience with embedded software stacks: QNX, Linux, Android, middleware and toolchains; AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive.
• ADAS sensor integration experience (cameras, radar, ultrasonic) and system-level data/latency analysis.
• Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols and interfaces (CAN, SOME/IP, DoIP, UDS) and diagnostics.
• Solid understanding of automotive safety, quality, and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 26262, ASPICE) and their architectural implications.
• Strong problem-solving, data-driven decision making, and ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills; German is strongly preferred. Willingness to travel regularly (domestic and international).
• Programming experience with C/C++, Java, or Python for system-level debugging and tooling.
• Nice-to-have: Prior experience at Qualcomm, major semiconductor vendors, or Tier‑1 integrators; familiarity with perception, sensor fusion, planning & control; deep system performance analysis and optimization on SoC-based ECUs.
