Firmware QA Engineer
Role Summary
Work on firmware validation for NVIDIA networking products (Ethernet, InfiniBand, SmartNICs, DPUs). Design and automate test scenarios, validate new features, investigate and reproduce complex issues, and help deliver reliable firmware releases.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Guidance: 1+ years of relevant experience in firmware, software, or QA roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing and executing tests, automating test coverage, and collaborating with R&D to resolve issues.
- Review architecture and requirements for new firmware features.
- Design, develop and execute tests for new features as part of SW/FW releases.
- Automate tests within the existing framework and extend framework capabilities.
- Report bugs, assist reproduction and debugging, verify fixes, and escalate when needed.
- Run regression, performance, functional and security tests; track and report test progress and results.
Requirements
Must-have and nice-to-have qualifications for successful candidates.
Must-have:
- Minimum 1+ years practical experience in firmware, software, or QA engineering.
- Clear verbal and written communication in English.
- Ability to work independently, plan tasks, and own deliverables.
- Experience reproducing and debugging issues and verifying fixes.
Nice-to-have:
- Scripting experience, especially Python.
- Knowledge or experience in networking technologies.
- Prior QA experience with methodologies and test design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
