Firmware Engineering Manager
Role Summary
Lead a team of firmware engineers responsible for training algorithms and control firmware for DDR, LPDDR, and HBM PHYs. Manage the full project lifecycle from architecture through customer deployment and support, and coordinate cross-domain debugging with RTL and hardware teams.

Responsibilities
Primary duties include team leadership, project delivery, and cross-domain technical coordination.
- Manage and grow a team of 5–8 firmware engineers working on DDR/LPDDR/HBM PHY firmware.
- Own the full project lifecycle for complex PHY firmware, from architecture through customer deployment and support.
- Spend up to 20% of time working directly with global customers to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Coach engineers on embedded C development, RTL integration, and debugging practices.
- Drive standards for code quality, documentation, and testing within the team.
- Debug cross-domain issues using waveform analysis and coordination with RTL and hardware teams.
- Represent the team in technical reviews and translate engineering tradeoffs for stakeholders.
Requirements

- Proven experience as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager leading embedded firmware or silicon IP development teams.
- Strong proficiency in C for embedded firmware and experience writing production-level code for resource-constrained environments.
- Hands-on experience with RTL waveform analysis and cross-boundary debugging between firmware and hardware.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineers across experience levels.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical discussions with engineers, stakeholders, and customers.
- Experience working in both hardware and software development contexts, understanding firmware interaction with RTL and physical interfaces.
Education Requirements
