Firmware Engineer Intern
Role Summary
Internship on Marvell Central Engineering FW team supporting SerDes PHY and analog/mixed-signal IP firmware development and verification. Work includes firmware module development, CI/CD, debugging, bring-up, and cross-team collaboration with firmware, design, application, and SoC teams.
May require eligibility to access export-controlled technology as defined by applicable law.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for students or early-career candidates; this is a student internship role.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include development, verification, and delivery of firmware and related artifacts.
- Develop firmware for Marvell SerDes IP and other AMS-IP firmware modules.
- Design, implement, and verify new firmware modules; produce module design specs and documentation.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and build scripts.
- Perform debugging, bring-up, and production firmware development.
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware design, applications, and SoC teams to integrate and verify IP.
Requirements
Key skills and abilities required or preferred for the role.
- Must-have: Knowledge of microcontrollers; embedded firmware design, development, and debugging; strong Python programming skills; good technical communication and problem-solving skills.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with microcontroller programming; C/C++ in bare-metal embedded environments; CI/CD tools such as Jenkins; familiarity with chip-design simulation/verification; knowledge of SerDes technology and PCIe host interfaces; exposure to AI/ML/LLM concepts.
Education Requirements
3rd- or 4th-year Bachelor's student or Master student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
