Firmware Engineer Data Center Solid State Drives

Role Summary

Develop and validate high-performance controller firmware for SSDs and memory controllers used in data-center products. Work on firmware implementation, bench testing, debugging, and failure analysis to improve performance, reduce power and latency, and simplify SoC complexity.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to isolate issues, triage failures, and support product development from prototype through release.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on firmware development, validation, and collaborative debugging for SSD controllers and related storage systems.

  • Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for memory controllers and SSDs.
  • Build and run bench tests; perform debugging and root-cause failure analysis.
  • Develop and use scripts and tooling to automate testing and data analysis.
  • File and track bug reports; isolate issues for development teams.
  • Collaborate with hardware, system software, and QA teams to resolve product issues.
  • Mentor or supervise junior engineers and technicians as required.
