Firmware Engineer
Role Summary
Develop high-performance controller firmware for volatile and non-volatile memory systems (SSD and memory controllers). Deliver firmware design, implementation, verification, and failure analysis while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet product performance, power, and reliability targets.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for memory controllers and SSDs.
- Bench test, debug, and perform failure analysis on firmware and system interactions.
- Collaborate with system test, hardware, product, memory design, and production teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
- Perform design verification using simulation and product testing; focus on firmware quality in the system.
- Participate in SCRUM/Agile processes and distributed code reviews.
- Develop test tools and methods and produce clear technical documentation that adheres to internal and industry standards.
- Work on front-end interfaces and NVMe protocol firmware for Enterprise SSD products.
Requirements
Core requirements and expectations:
- Experience developing embedded firmware, preferably for storage controllers or SSDs.
- Proficiency in structured embedded source code (C/C++ or equivalent).
- Strong debugging, bench testing, and failure analysis skills for firmware and hardware interactions.
- Experience with verification methods, including simulation and product testing.
- Familiarity with NVMe protocol and enterprise SSD firmware development, or demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and participating in code reviews and Agile processes.
- Ability to develop testing tools and produce clear technical documentation.
