Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's network R&D team to develop firmware for next-generation SmartNICs and related networking devices. The role covers firmware design, micro-architecture, software interfaces and verification, plus silicon bring-up and pre-tape-out validation.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically 3+ years of relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

Key duties include development, verification and support of SmartNIC firmware and associated silicon.

• Design and implement firmware features for congestion control, virtualization, QoS and related functionality.
• Validate firmware and silicon functionality prior to tape-out and perform bring-up after tape-out.
• Develop software interfaces and contribute to micro-architecture and verification activities.
• Support local customers to troubleshoot deployment issues and improve product reliability.
• Propose and implement improvements to product functionality and development efficiency.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience required for satisfactory performance in this role.

• 3+ years of relevant working experience in firmware or embedded systems.
• Proven strong capability in C programming.
• Hands-on experience in embedded system design and familiarity with embedded SoC architecture, network protocols, data structures and embedded OS concepts.
• Ability to read technical documentation and conduct meetings in English; strong written and spoken English.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with C++, Python or Shell scripting.
• Experience with Verilog or VHDL, RDMA, virtio or similar technologies.
• Customer-facing troubleshooting and deployment experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering (EE) or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
