Job Title

Films Process Development Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Thin Films team in Technology Development to develop and integrate thin film deposition processes that enable next-generation DRAM, with a focus on EUV patterning films. The role covers early development through transfer to high-volume manufacturing and requires close collaboration with R&D, manufacturing, and suppliers.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 4+ years of semiconductor materials or process development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing, characterizing, and scaling thin film processes for EUV-enabled DRAM.

  • Develop, optimize, and transfer thin film deposition processes for EUV-enabled DRAM technology.
  • Lead process characterization, troubleshooting, and defect reduction using VME and related methods.
  • Drive thin film roadmap activities to meet future technology node requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to mature equipment, chemistries, and process solutions.
  • Analyze large physical and electrical datasets and provide clear, data-driven recommendations.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Hands-on experience with EUV patterning films (photoresist, hard masks, spacers).
  • Experience with ALD, PECVD, PE-ALD, and/or LPCVD deposition processes.
  • Experience with process characterization, troubleshooting and defect reduction in semiconductor processes.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and metrics for process maturity.
  • Ability to analyze complex physical and electrical datasets and communicate recommendations.
  • Effective collaborator with experience working across R&D, manufacturing, and suppliers.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience developing thin films specifically for EUV patterning environments.
  • Experience with surface analysis techniques such as XPS, AFM, XRD, or SIMS.
  • Experience driving vendor equipment or process roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional or global development teams.

Education Requirements

PhD in a related technical field preferred; an MS is acceptable when combined with 4+ years of semiconductor materials or process development experience. Relevant fields include materials science, chemical reaction engineering, thin film physics, or equivalent practical experience.
