Role Summary

The Principal Lead Engineer leads a multi-shift engineering team responsible for films, metals, and implant process development within DRAM technology. The role combines technical leadership, team management across a 24/7 environment, and operational execution to accelerate technology milestones and improve manufacturing readiness.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical experience guidance: Bachelor's with ~10+ years in semiconductor process/manufacturing, or Master's/PhD with ~5+ years.

Responsibilities

Accountable for leading execution, ensuring data quality, and improving development throughput across shifts.

  • Lead and coach multi-shift engineering teams to meet development priorities and maintain consistent 24/7 performance.
  • Coordinate wafer execution, data collection, process monitoring, and timely responses to customer issues.
  • Partner with Process Development, Integration, Equipment, and Manufacturing to accelerate learning cycles and meet roadmap goals.
  • Drive operational excellence by managing key metrics, reducing cycle time, and removing execution bottlenecks.
  • Develop and improve workflows, systems, and AI-enabled practices to increase efficiency and development speed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Technical leadership experience in a semiconductor or manufacturing environment, including multi-shift oversight.
  • Hands-on experience with films, metals, or implant processes (examples: CVD, ALD, PVD, Diffusion, Implant).
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with Process Development, Equipment, and Manufacturing partners.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience improving process yield and defect reduction.
  • Experience implementing workflows, process monitoring, and data-quality practices in a production or pilot fab setting.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience in the semiconductor industry. Preferred: Master's or PhD in Engineering. Posting also specifies equivalent experience options (e.g., Bachelor's + 10+ years or Master's/PhD + 5+ years).
