Field Technical Representative - FPGA Specialist
Role Summary
Field Technical Representative providing pre- and post-sales technical support and consulting for FPGA-based designs. The role partners with local Arrow sales teams and suppliers to drive demand, deliver training, and support customer design efforts.
Position reports to regional sales/technical leadership and supports customers and suppliers across the assigned region.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Requires 5+ years of electronic design experience (guidance provided by the posting).
Responsibilities
Primary duties focus on technical engagement with customers, support to sales, and supplier relationship management.
- Partner with regional Arrow sales teams on pre-sales and post-sales activities to promote FPGA solutions.
- Work with customers to capture system- and component-level design requirements and provide technical recommendations.
- Attend supplier trainings and evaluate supplier technologies relative to market needs.
- Train and support Arrow sales teams on new FPGA products and features.
- Manage supplier and customer expectations; maintain stakeholder communication and progress updates.
- Manage top opportunities and maintain the opportunity funnel for the assigned region.
- Participate in branch strategy meetings and quarterly business reviews.
- Plan and help organize engineering customer events and seminars; prepare and deliver sales presentations.
- Meet with customers onsite and virtually; travel to Arrow offices and customer sites as required.
- Work independently and act as a technical resource for less-experienced colleagues.
- Participate in a sales compensation plan with a variable component tied to sales-related goals.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional attributes.
- Hands-on FPGA design experience: HDL, simulation, verification workflows.
- Experience with Altera (Intel) FPGA technologies.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for technical and sales audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Comfortable supporting sales activities; prior sales experience is beneficial.
- Ability to travel to Arrow offices and customer sites as requested; attend in-person meetings when local.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is specified. The posting also requires 5+ years of electronic design experience. No alternative "equivalent experience" language was provided.
