Must-have technical skills and location/working requirements are listed below. Preferred skills are noted separately.
- Foundation in power electronics, analog circuit design, DC-DC converters, switching power supplies, feedback control loops, and circuit analysis.
- Practical experience with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power analyzers, source-measure units) or demonstrated ability to learn them quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel periodically to customer sites and to work regularly in a laboratory environment.
- Must be located in, or willing to relocate to, the Austin, TX area with regular access to Renesas' Austin laboratory and local customer sites.
Nice-to-have / preferred:
- Internship, co-op, undergraduate research, or industry experience in power electronics, power-supply design, hardware validation, or semiconductor applications engineering.
- Experience with switching power-supply design, simulation tools (LTspice, PSpice, SIMPLIS, MATLAB/Simulink), scripting for test automation (Python, MATLAB), and PCB layout considerations for power delivery.
- Experience building automated validation methodologies and data-analysis workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. The posting targets recent graduates or candidates expecting to graduate before the anticipated start date; relevant internships, co-ops, or equivalent project experience are noted as preferred.
