Field Applications Engineer, IP Product

Role Summary

Champion Tenstorrent's RISC-V CPU and AI accelerator IP with customers in the US and Canada. Lead technical engagements from evaluation through design win, translate architectural advantages into customer outcomes, and feed market insights into the product roadmap.

This is a hybrid role based near one of Tenstorrent's main offices in the United States or Canada.

Experience Level

Senior role β€” typically requires 7+ years in the semiconductor industry. The company may assess and place candidates at an appropriate level during interview.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer-facing technical leadership, evaluation support, and cross-functional feedback.

  • Own end-to-end technical engagements with customers and partners, from discovery to design win.
  • Present and demonstrate architectural advantages of Tenstorrent IP to technical and executive audiences.
  • Provide deep-dive analyses and hands-on integration guidance for IP evaluation and system integration.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous customer accounts and sustain long-term technical relationships.
  • Collect and communicate market and customer feedback to influence product roadmap and feature priorities.
  • Coordinate internally with product, engineering, and sales teams to drive technical wins and production success.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience, customer engagement skills, and legal eligibility for export-controlled technology.

  • 7+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry with customer-facing roles in CPU/IP engagements.
  • Hands-on expertise with ASIC design flows and IP integration; familiarity with design views such as .lib, LEF, ICL, PDL.
  • Deep technical knowledge of CPU architectures, semiconductor technologies, and system-level design.
  • Proven track record of technical wins and managing multiple accounts concurrently.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills; ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to travel and work on-site with customers as required by account commitments.
  • Employment contingent on eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology; may require U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an export license.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is required (as stated in the posting).
