Field Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Korea-based engineering team supporting an advanced e-beam inspection platform used in 300mm semiconductor manufacturing. The role focuses on on-site recipe development, wafer inspection, data analysis, and driving yield improvement for leading-edge ICs.
This position requires cross-functional collaboration with R&D and customers, hands-on work in production fabs, and responsibility for improving inspection processes and tool performance.
Experience Level
Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). Typical background: 2+ years of relevant field experience or an advanced degree; recent PhD graduates are also welcome.
Responsibilities
Primary duties performed on-site in 300mm fabs and in collaboration with internal R&D and customer teams.
- Write and optimize inspection recipes for PDF's e-beam tools in 300mm fabs.
- Drive wafer inspection campaigns and analyze measurements to reduce yield loss on advanced ICs.
- Oversee the data pipeline from measurement, monitoring data quality and tool health.
- Perform R&D experiments to improve and optimize recipes based on data analysis.
- Lead engineering projects and implement process improvements and automation.

- Must-have: Experience working with inspection tools such as optical, voltage-contrast, or spectroscopy and ability to operate in a production fab while responding promptly to customer requests with high-quality results.
- Must-have: Strong analytical and communication skills; experience monitoring data quality and driving corrective actions.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in semiconductor manufacturing (preferably sub-20nm FINFET technology).
- Nice-to-have: Statistical data analysis tools (NumPy, JMP, Tableau, MATLAB) and programming experience (Python preferred; Java, C#, C++, Ruby, Perl also useful).
- Nice-to-have: Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary R&D teams to resolve issues and drive improvements.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Master’s degree OR a minimum of 2 years of relevant field experience. Relevant degree fields include Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science or similar engineering disciplines. The role also welcomes recent PhD graduates and allows equivalent practical experience.
