Field Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Field Applications Engineer supporting customers in the Bay Area or the Portland/Seattle region. Provide technical presales support, product demonstrations, and hands-on design assistance for Lattice FPGA solutions.
The role combines engineering work (design reviews, benchmarks, troubleshooting) with customer-facing activities and coordination with internal sales and factory teams.
Experience Level
Senior — 7+ years of experience in FPGA and/or ASIC design.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support and guidance to customers throughout their product development cycle.
- Deliver product presentations, demos, and benchmarks to customers and prospects.
- Perform on-site and remote design reviews and troubleshooting for customer designs.
- Assist customers with integration of Lattice FPGA products and development flows.
- Identify and develop opportunities within assigned accounts; manage customer relationships.
- Coordinate technical issues and feedback with internal field, product, and factory teams.
- Prepare and execute reference designs, application notes, and performance benchmarks.
- Travel periodically to customer sites in the assigned region.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities.
- 7+ years of FPGA and/or ASIC design experience.
- Hands-on experience coding and verifying in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
- Familiarity with FPGA toolchains such as Radiant, Diamond, Quartus, or Vivado.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple customer engagements.
- Ability to perform hands-on debugging, run benchmarks, and deliver technical demonstrations.
- Availability for periodic travel and on-site customer visits.
- Nice-to-have: prior customer-facing or field application support experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).
