Field Application Engineer — Tessent Design for Test (DFT)

Role Summary

Work with sales and field technical teams to define, lead, and implement technical engagements that drive adoption of Siemens EDA Tessent DFT products into customer projects. The role focuses on integration of methodologies and flows, debugging and bring-up, and providing technical leadership for assigned accounts.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 8 to 12 years of relevant experience as an Applications Engineer, ASIC Design Engineer, or similar roles.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities center on technical enablement, customer engagement, and supporting sales campaigns.

  • Drive product adoption by creating and integrating methodology, flows, and infrastructure into customer environments.
  • Identify and support pilot projects, debug and bring up new methodologies and flows with customers.
  • Develop technical relationships across customer organizations to assess technical and business requirements.
  • Qualify technical viability of leads and advise sales teams on technical strategy.
  • Share account, evaluation, competitor, and technology information with peers, product teams, and management.
  • Provide technical leadership and act as primary technical contact for assigned accounts.
  • Participate in presentations, demonstrations, and project management activities to support sales objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional behaviors for successful performance.

  • 8–12 years experience as an Applications Engineer, ASIC Design Engineer, or related role.
  • Digital design experience and RTL coding in Verilog and/or VHDL.
  • Proven experience with Design for Test (DFT) for ASIC design.
  • Working knowledge of TCL and general programming concepts.
  • Simulation and verification expertise; familiarity with diagnosis-driven yield analysis is desirable.
  • Project management experience and strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence, work in teams, and communicate effectively at all management levels.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and develop deep product knowledge for silicon test solutions.
  • Familiarity with basic sales tactics and business/financial terminology; marketing-related knowledge is a plus.
  • Employment subject to U.S. export control (ITAR/EAR); must be a U.S. Person or obtain necessary export license where required.
  • Nice-to-have: direct experience with Siemens Tessent DFT products; experience with diagnosis-driven yield analysis.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Science (BSCS) required; Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) preferred.
