Field Application Engineer - Tessent Design for Test (DFT)
Role Summary
Work with sales and field technical teams to define and execute technical engagements that support sales campaigns for Siemens EDA Tessent Design-for-Test solutions. Deliver methodology, integrations, pilot projects, and technical leadership for customer accounts.
Experience Level
Senior — typical guidance: 8 to 12 years of relevant experience as an Applications Engineer, ASIC Design Engineer, or similar role.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on enabling customer adoption, technical sales support, and account-level technical leadership.
- Create and apply DFT methodology and flows; integrate tools into customer environments and support bring-up and debugging.
- Identify and qualify pilot projects and opportunities; assess technical viability and plan engagements with sales.
- Build relationships with customers across levels to gather technical and business requirements.
- Share account, evaluation, competitor, and technology information with internal teams to inform strategy and product decisions.
- Provide technical leadership and act as the primary technical contact for assigned accounts.
- Participate in diagnosis-driven yield analysis and simulation/verification activities as needed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and authorization required for the role.
- 8 to 12 years of experience in applications engineering, ASIC design, or a related field.
- Digital design experience and RTL coding in Verilog and/or VHDL.
- Proven track record in Design-for-Test (DFT) for ASICs.
- Experience with TCL and general scripting/programming concepts.
- Simulation and verification expertise; familiarity with debug and bring-up processes.
- Project management experience and strong written/verbal communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate with sales, and provide account-level technical leadership.
- Familiarity with business/financial terminology and basic sales tactics.
- Experience with Siemens Tessent DFT products is strongly preferred.
- Position subject to U.S. export control (ITAR/EAR); must be a U.S. Person or able to obtain necessary export authorization.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required: BSEE (Electrical Engineering) or BSCS (Computer Science). Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is preferred. (Degrees specified by the employer.)
