Field Application Engineer - Microcontrollers
Role Summary
Customer-facing engineering role supporting microcontroller-based embedded systems for IoT, Industrial, and Healthcare customers. Provide technical solutions, deployment support, and product feedback to accelerate customer designs and influence product development.
Experience Level
Mid-level β minimum 5 years development engineering or applications support experience with microcontroller-based embedded systems.
Responsibilities
Deliver technical support, develop firmware and system solutions, and coordinate cross-functional activities to achieve customer objectives and design wins.
- Develop and bring up embedded firmware and system prototypes in C/C++ for microcontroller platforms.
- Define system concepts, validation plans, bench builds, and software porting for customer designs.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive resolution across teams and with partners.
- Review schematics and PCB designs and provide application-level guidance.
- Manage cross-functional project plans to meet customer timelines and expectations.
- Provide technical training and presentations for customers and internal stakeholders; collect and relay product development feedback.
- Support field activities and customer visits (travel up to 25%).

Must-have: Minimum 5 years development engineering or applications support for microcontroller-based embedded systems.

Must-have: Proven embedded firmware development in C and C++.

Must-have: Knowledge of SoC hardware interfaces such as Ethernet, MIPI, SDIO, LPDDR3/4, Quad/Octal SPI, USB, UART, SPI, I2C, I3C.

Must-have: Strong troubleshooting skills with schematics and data analysis; clear verbal and written communication to technical and non-technical audiences.

Must-have: Disciplined project management and strong interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-have: Experience with ARM Cortex processors, RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr), secure boot, encryption, and lifecycle management.

Nice-to-have: Experience in AI model deployment, graphics/video subsystems and drivers, IoT/Healthcare/Industrial electronics, or prior FAE experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
