Field Application Engineer – India (Ahmedabad, MIPS)
Role Summary
Customer-facing Field Application Engineer supporting MIPS processor IP and related system solutions across India. The role drives design wins by aligning customer requirements with processor IP, software tools, and custom silicon options and by supporting evaluations, integrations, and technical proposals.

Responsibilities
Primary duties focused on customer engagement, technical enablement, and supporting design-in of processor IP and SoC solutions.
- Serve as the main technical contact for customer evaluations and early development phases.
- Guide customer teams on processor IP integration, embedded software tools, SDKs, compilers, and system architecture.
- Drive design‑in activities and support customers through evaluation to implementation and production.
- Lead technical discussions on CPU IP licensing and custom silicon solutions to convert opportunities into design wins.
- Demonstrate MIPS technologies including RISC‑V and performance/safety-ready offerings.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues and coordinate with internal engineering teams to resolve complex problems.
- Support Business Development and Sales with technical input for proposals and customer workshops.
- Participate in customer workshops, demos, industry events, and ecosystem partner engagements across India.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for success in this role. Education requirements are listed separately below.
- 2–5 years in Field Application Engineering, Applications Engineering, or Design Engineering focused on semiconductor IP, SoC/ASIC development, or embedded systems.
- Familiarity with processor architectures, embedded software development (compilers, SDKs, OS), and system-level design/integration.
- Proven record supporting customer engagements and achieving design wins.
- Strong customer-facing communication, problem-solving, and debugging abilities.
- Comfortable engaging customers both on-site and via digital channels; able to manage multiple customer engagements and use modern collaboration tools.
- Ability to operate independently in a field-based role and to bridge technical depth with customer business needs.
- Fluent English (Written & Verbal: C1).

Nice-to-have: experience with RISC‑V ecosystem or CPU IP integration, prior work with automotive OEMs or Tier‑1 suppliers, custom silicon/SoC development flows, or knowledge of functional safety standards.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline or a closely related technical field (e.g., Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science) as stated in the posting.
