Field Application Engineer - Emulation

Role Summary

Join the technical sales team to support sales, evaluation, deployment, and customer success for Siemens EDA emulation and verification products. Provide hands-on technical expertise during product evaluations, troubleshoot customer issues, and relay product feedback to development and product marketing teams.

This role combines on-site customer engagement with remote work to drive adoption and long-term customer satisfaction.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role expects approximately 5–10 years of relevant industry experience in chip/system design, verification, simulation, emulation or similar application-engineering roles.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on technical support for sales and customer deployments, product evaluation, and feedback to product teams.

  • Support sales engagements and lead technical product evaluations with customers on-site and remotely.
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations, training, and technical support to customers during evaluations and deployments.
  • Build peer-level technical relationships with customers and promote technical customer service to improve satisfaction.
  • Identify customer requirements and translate them into actionable feedback for product development and marketing.
  • Troubleshoot technical obstacles during evaluations and implementations.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations on product features and updates.
  • Collaborate with sales management and account teams to qualify and pursue business opportunities.

Requirements

Core technical skills and practical experience required and preferred for the role.

Must have:

  • 5–10 years' experience in design, verification, simulation, emulation, prototyping, or applications engineering for electronic chips and systems.
  • Experience with RTL design using SystemVerilog, Verilog, and VHDL.
  • Chip/ASIC design or verification experience, including RTL/behavioral coding and ASIC debug practices.
  • Experience with industry simulators (Questa, Incisive, or VCS); OVM or UVM experience required.
  • ASIC and/or FPGA implementation experience (synthesis, place & route).
  • Good communication skills and ability to train and demo to customers.

Preferred / Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with emulation platforms (e.g., Veloce, Palladium, ZeBu).
  • Knowledge of C, C++, SystemC used with chip design and verification.
  • Familiarity with transaction-level modeling and common protocols (AMBA, MIPI, DDR, PCIe, UFS, USB).
  • Proficiency with scripting (Perl, Python, shell) and build/configuration files (Makefiles, XML, JSON).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
