Job Title

Fellow Server Product Architect

Role Summary

Lead the architecture and system-level definition of EPYC-based server products across silicon, platform hardware/software, and usage scenarios. The role engages customers, internal architects, field application teams, and business stakeholders to define end-to-end server solutions that balance performance, power, cost and usability.

Work spans requirement definition, cross-disciplinary technical leadership, research and development of next-generation server designs, and driving alignment with partners and customers.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Fellow). The posting expects extensive experience and a proven track record; specific years of experience are not stated.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on system and product architecture for server and hyperscale datacenter applications.

  • Define server product architecture using AMD processors, accelerators, and network components for HPC and large datacenter applications.
  • Collaborate with customers, SoC/CPU/IP architects, platform and device architects, firmware and system software teams to translate usage scenarios into product requirements.
  • Drive cross-functional tradeoffs across memory, I/O, power, thermal, packaging and mechanical subsystems to meet performance, power and cost targets.
  • Lead research and R&D for next-generation server designs to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Partner with external technology companies to co-engineer solutions and establish engineering credibility with customers and leadership.
  • Communicate technical positions clearly and drive alignment on architectural solutions across engineering and business teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional experience required to perform the role.

  • Deep system-level knowledge across memory, I/O, signal integrity, power integrity, packaging, power delivery, thermal design, power management, boot process, firmware and hardware management.
  • Detailed understanding of server industry standards and high-speed I/O protocols (e.g., DDR, PCIe, SATA).
  • Proven track record of delivering server products from architecture through bring-up, validation and production release.
  • Experience working across engineering disciplines and geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong customer-facing skills and experience influencing product direction with leading technology partners.
  • Ability to shape product and system architecture and drive technical execution across a product lifecycle.
  • Note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is expected; equivalent extensive practical experience may also be considered based on the posting language.
