Fab Process Engineer
Role Summary
Manage and improve semiconductor wafer fabrication processes for power diode production within the Wafer FAB. Work as part of a multifunctional team of process engineers and equipment specialists to drive yield, throughput, productivity and cost improvements.
Lead process qualification, production control, technical projects and data-driven problem solving to support manufacturing and product performance targets.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early-career. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant technical engineering or project experience in manufacturing or semiconductor-related environments.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include process management, project work, data analysis and cross-functional problem solving.
- Manage silicon wafer diode production processes across cost, quality and qualification (photolithography, etch, diffusion furnaces, PVD, PECVD, ion implantation, grinding, evaporation).
- Rotate across FAB process areas for six months, then take ongoing responsibility for a priority process area.
- Define and lead medium/long-term FAB process and automation projects and diode platform initiatives.
- Analyze large datasets, perform statistical analysis and DOE modeling (using JMP or similar tools) to drive yield and throughput improvements.
- Identify new process opportunities, evaluate silicon suppliers/specifications, and execute production and cost optimization actions.
- Lead 8D problem-solving activities and technical discussions with Quality and R&D.
- Travel to support supplier audits and cross-site experience as required.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes for successful performance.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in technical engineering or project roles.
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and production environments.
- Experience with data analysis, statistical methods and DOE; practical use of JMP is preferred.
- Knowledge of DMAIC methodology, project management and 8D problem solving.
- Strong analytical mindset, flexibility, sense of urgency and results orientation.
- Good command of English and ability to communicate with senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel for supplier audits and site support.
Education Requirements
Degree in Engineering or in Mathematical, Physical or Natural Sciences.
