Job Title

Experienced Test Development Engineer

Role Summary

Develop test hardware and test programs for mixed-signal analog ICs, characterize silicon on automatic test equipment (ATE), and support transition of products from development into volume production. The role works with design, production, and failure-analysis teams to improve yield, reduce test time, and ensure product quality.

Experience Level

Mid-level (minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities involve ATE hardware and software development, device characterization, and production support.

  • Design ATE hardware interface boards and develop associated test software/programs.
  • Create test plans and characterization programs; implement test and characterization solutions.
  • Debug and characterize silicon on ATE and correlate results with bench measurements.
  • Perform statistical analysis of yield fallout, identify root causes, and implement fixes to improve yield.
  • Optimize test time and drive cost-effective, robust test solutions.
  • Work with production teams to release products to volume production; support device validation and failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, FA) to meet product quality and schedule targets.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in test development or product engineering.
  • Hands-on ATE experience (Teradyne Eagle or equivalent analog ATE such as Flex, LTX, V93K); experience on multiple tester platforms is a plus.
  • Practical experience in ATE hardware development and test program development.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electronic devices, circuits, layout processes, and analog test techniques.
  • Data analysis skills using Spotfire, dataPower or equivalent STDF-based statistical tools.
  • Experience with yield improvement, test time reduction, and the IC product development lifecycle through volume production.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred:

  • Mixed-signal test technique experience and developing mixed-signal tests on TI roadmap testers.
  • Experience offloading test programs and hardware to offshore manufacturing sites.
  • Programming/scripting skills: C++, Python, C#, VBA.
  • Experience in device characterization, failure analysis, and advanced statistical methods for yield analysis.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering (required).
